New Year’s Eve Rock Band Party. This is about the fourth or fifth Rock Band party that we have hosted. They are always great fun. David rocks out on the drums & thinks that maybe he would be good at the real drums. Isn’t that how it works? Video game skills easily translate to real life skills. David is also working on an NFL contract (via football video games) & becoming a martial artist (via kung fu combat video games). Also, it never ceases to us amaze how popular the singing part to Rock Band is nor does it cease to amaze us how many times Angie can request Ratt’s “Round & Round” to be played.

David and Abby go to the Mavs game (against the Minnesota Timberwolves)

David has season tickets and tries to sell his tickets at enough profit to cover going to around ¼ of the games. With this year’s economy, it may be tough this year, but it has worked in previous years. The game was the biggest comeback in Mavs history. The Mavs overcame a 29 point deficit mid way through the third quarter to come back and win. Abby is great to go to the games with. She cheers, engages others around her, holds up the complimentary Mavs sign, etc (unlike Sam who usually is mostly concerned with when he is going to get a hot dog).

"that's not a bib"

The Dallas Cowboys game to make it to the playoffs got so bad (Philly 44, Dallas 6 final) that we decided to play a game (Pictionary). We haven’t laughed so hard as when Abby got mad at David for his picture for a “bib”. Look at the picture and see if you think that criticism was warranted. Also, as expected, Sam had a real knack for the game & he and Shari were victorious every game.

Abby is way into cooking right now. In addition to this baking event, Abby also got a cup cake maker, apron & cooking utensils for Christmas (and also made a very impressive gingerbread house). As of this writing she has a Christmas present from the Rivera's that she hasn't opened yet......don't tell Abby it's an Easybake oven...shhhhhh.....

Turkey Trot

Dad, Mom, Sam, Abby, G'ma & G'pa all went to the Sachse Turkey Trot...Abby and Sam had a great race and I am happy to say that I also had a great race...it's been a long time since I have been able to run a 10 minute mile.....

I couldn't stop laughing at David on the Superman ride at Six Flags. I don't know which is funnier me laughing or the look on his face (I think I was the only one that saw it).
